“The lion is the hunted until she tells her tale.” – African Proverb
Welcome to our village
The human world up to now has socialized women to be weak, uninformed, and vulnerable. This is not the nature of femininity.
We use informed, responsible, and inclusive firearms training to help women get back to their roots as protectors and providers by relearning community, self-trust, and personal defense.
Everyone should know firearms safety and how to shoot and clear a gun no matter how one feels about guns and gun control. My goal is that every member knows how to safely approach and clear the action of a basic pistol, rifle, and shotgun.
Join 2AWGV:
- for weekly group shoots at indoor ranges around the valley during Ladies’ Day, so you can save a little money.
- to shoot whenever you shoot and share your range day to inspire others.
- for safe and socially responsible community concerning the present and historical relationship between African-Americans and the 2nd Amendment.
- Firearms training is also available: Practice pistol, rifle, shotgun, or get your AZ CCW.
As a 2AWGV member, feel free to share:
- Pictures from the range
- certification attempts
- upcoming training of relevance
- family training events
- competitions & intros to competitive shooting
- training that you are attending
- invitations to train together
- range drills & exercises
- helpful gun stuff
- information about Black Americans & Guns in U.S. History
- and more
Why Groups such as the African American Women’s Gun Village (2AWGV) are needed:
Please note that we’ve had trolls. Especially after sharing that I no longer support Scottsdale Gun Club. I share about what happened rather extensively on this board and in the rotational event titled, “Why Scottsdale Gun Club will no longer be in our Ladies’ Day rotation.” The Google review shared in this event is the original 5-star review (reduced to 1 star).
Scottsdale Gun Club has been lying to platforms behind the scenes about me “tooth and nail” to have the review removed or hidden. Only one social platform investigated their allegations, so you can find my 1-star review for Scottsdale Gun Club with some photo evidence on Yelp. You can also read it here:

Challenge Question:
You might come across the following challenge question:
‘Why is “Stand Your Ground,” considered “racist” by historically (and presently) marginalized communities?
This is to protect the integrity of the group and the safety and trust of its members. To be sure, you don’t have to know the facts, you just have to appreciate why, to the point of creating safe & inclusive 2A community. However, if you want “the answer” relevant to Black community, please read my review of Scottsdale Gun Club found on Yelp (under the “not recommended” section) or here.
The 4 Basic Rules of Firearms Safety:
1. The gun is always loaded. If it is not loaded, read this rule again.
2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. Never point the barrel of your firearm at anything that you are not willing to damage, wound, or destroy.
4. Always know your target and what is beyond your target (for example, livestock are grazing behind the stump on which you’ve placed your tin can-target).
*DISCLAIMER: Guns are dangerous. Members participate at their own risk and might be required to sign a range waiver and additional group waiver prior to participating in group events.
